The success of immunization programs largely depends on the know-how of the personnel. All staff members who operate equipment, and administer or handle vaccines should have the necessary training to prevent vaccine damage. Also, health workers need to know how to diagnose diseases so that the appropriate measures can be taken—be it individual treatment or mass immunization.
AMP is committed to working with its partners to provide supervised on-the-job training to health workers through periodic field visits. This coaching technique enables trainees to further their education while continuing to provide vital public health services to their communities. In particular, we design and implement courses in field epidemiology, vaccinology, and health services management.
