INGO Health Sector Forum in Vietnam: Collaborating to Save More Lives

November 20, 2014

AMP was represented at a meeting to promote communication and collaboration between the Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MoH) and health-focused international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). Held in Hanoi, Vietnam on November 13, 2014, the event was chaired by Le Quang Cuong, Vietnamese vice minister of health, and co-chaired by Ms. Dorothy Leab, human resources for health program leader at AMP, and Ms. Tran Thi Giang Huong, director of the international cooperation department at the MoH.

The third of its kind, the meeting welcomed nearly 200 representatives from the MoH, provincial health departments, INGOs, bilateral agencies, government organizations (e.g., USAID), and the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM), which serves as the legal agency for INGOs operating in Vietnam. Outcomes of the meeting included a review of critical findings and a presentation of specific activities that the MoH and INGOs agreed to implement in the near future.
