Dr. Wolfgang Bichmann is a global health expert. Until 2012, he headed up the Sector and Policy Division for Health, Education, and Social Protection in KfW Development Bank (mandated to carry out financial cooperation for the German Government). With a background in public health, tropical medicine, and social sciences, he holds degrees from universities in Berlin, Heidelberg, and Liverpool, and has published articles on medical anthropology, tropical, public, and community health. He has previously chaired an OECD/DAC-WHO working group on ‘Poverty and Health’ [Guidelines 2003], as well as the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition from 2006 to 2009. He is currently a member of the board of directors at the Global Health Investment Fund.
