A key component for successful introduction of a malaria vaccine in the Post Approval Plan (PAP) countries will be the development of culturally appropriate training and communication materials, adapted to national context.

In 2015, with support from PATH MVI and AMP, national communication working groups composed of Ministries of Health Programs Officers in the PAP countries, drafted country communication strategies for the malaria vaccine

On the basis of these strategies, and together with PATH MVI and GSK communication teams, AMP develops country-specific training packages for health care providers, and information/education/communication (IEC) materials for community health workers and children caregivers from health care districts where the PAP studies will be running.

These materials are designed following countries guidance, with the aim to create awareness on malaria vaccine, to strengthen the capacity of health workers to communicate on malaria vaccine, and to address information gaps within communities related to childhood vaccination and malaria disease control.
