AMP is implementing a project to estimate the costs of vaccine regulation at different stages of development in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing countries, and to identify appropriate national regulatory authority (NRA) vaccine fee systems to improve financial sustainability.
The project will cover 16 developing and developed countries worldwide. In a first phase the project, however, focus is on China, India, and Indonesia.
Data collection is mainly based on two techniques: remote desk review and country visits (including interviews with key stakeholders to collect detailed data with the help of a dedicated questionnaire).
The project is funded by the World Health Organization (WHO).
